Frequently asked questions.

Do I need to sign up to anything to play once I've booked?

Not at all, My sessions are hosted on a specialist gaming platform (Vorpalboard) which participants access via a weblink with no sign up required.

What tech will I need to play?

My sessions run best when joined on a desktop, or laptop device, but do work with limited function on some mobile devices.  This must have a microphone for the system to operate, though you can have this muted.

Cameras do not need to be turned on to play in our sessions. We have many participants who choose not to use these.

What else will I need to play?

For some courses you'll need a character sheet or scrap paper and a pencil if you've a printed version, these are linked in your booking email My system has incorporated dice, and nothing else is needed.

My Child is Autistic\Neurodivergent, can they join your sessions?

YES!!

Lord Foxley is a Neurodivergent led business, I design my sessions to be Neurodivergent friendly, and I have a lot of Neurodivergent players. I actively welcome other Neurodivergent folk into our games, and do my best to make sessions work for everyone and create a space where people can be authentically themselves.

I appreciate that not every session is right for every player however, and encourage you to read my accessibility policy, and contact us if you need extra accommodations to be able to take part.

My Child is anxious - what can you offer to help us?

I understand that some people are more nervous than others, and need longer to be able to speak or participate fully.

It may be useful to check out my what to expect on sessions page to give an overview of sessions.

I discuss new group anxiety at the beginning of all of my courses, and allow players to see that I too am nervous meeting new people, and that is is both natural, and something that dissipates as we get stuck in to gaming.

If your child would benefit from a 1:1 before the course starts, please do get in touch - I offer heavily discounted 1:1 sessions when a course booking for the same child is made.

My Child has difficulties speaking due to situational mutism - can they type?

YES!!

The gaming platform does not have a chat feature built in - but I have an accessibility padlet I can share to the screen which enables players to type - please do get in touch if this is something your child needs.

Do you offer trial sessions?

I completely understand wanting a trial session, however find that it can take more than a single session to relax into roleplay. Whilst I recommend full beginner courses to get the best impression of gaming here at Lord Foxley - I do offer 2 session taster blocks which give a feel for the gameplay (but will not teach rules or character creation).

I can offer family sessions or 1:1's on a one off basis - please do contact me.

If you are an experienced player, I would suggest booking on one of my one shot sessions or mini campaigns to trial my sessions.
