Who is Lord Foxley?

Hi, I'm Rob, creator of Lord Foxley. I am an avid gamer, parent, and home educator who is dedicated to inclusive cooperative gaming for all ages and abilities.

I have a multitude of experience in support, youth engagement and of course gaming.

I am the resident games host, and will be conducting all sessions, creating most of the digital content, and all contact you have with Lord Foxley will be me. I have an enhanced DBS check for your peace of mind.

Of course, like any home business, it feels like a family venture, and my children are always happy to test my content out for me, and tell me when there needs to be more dragons!

Gaming Beginnings

In the Foxley household, we love gaming, and it has always played a huge part in our lives, and when we found table top roleplaying games which combined creativity with cooperative gaming, we were hooked.

More than just loving it though, I've seen how  gaming (especially cooperatively) can positively impact lives,  building a multitude of transferable skills, encouraging friendships and enhancing problem solving ability.

Don't just take my word for it though, there's a lot of research that has shown table top, cooperative, and creative play really are good for you.

My Ethos

Enjoyment

I believe enjoyment is paramount.

First and foremost I want every single person who comes to our sessions, to have enjoyed their time here.

Creativity

I believe creativity promotes positive mental health.

I want to lead sessions and provide content which inspires people to unleash their creativity and express themselves.

Cooperation

I believe that cooperative games provide a unique form of social experience.

Cooperative games are a low pressure way to build friendships, and build people skills. I don't just want to provide sessions that stop when the time is up. I hope to foster connections that will last beyond the sessions, and provide a safe opportunity for building life skills.

Inclusion

I believe that the world would be a better place if differences were embraced, not just tolerated.

Creating a service which includes everyone is integral to my ethos. I actively work hard at undoing my bias', and at providing accessible content and sessions. Equally I recognise I am not infallible. If there is something you need to be able to access my content which I am not providing, please chat to me about how I can accommodate you.

Play is important

I believe that play and downtime are inherently useful, and for children and teens especially, a learning experience in it's own right.

As a child-led home educator, I understand that children learn best when it's natural learning. This means I trust that play is learning already. What I aspire to do is support the skills development TTRPG already provides, allowing a safe space to master them. My educational specific sessions still follow this ethos, introducing topics during play in a way which inspires a thirst for more knowledge, rather than trying to conceal heavy learning under the guise of play.

Location

I run sessions online, and events online and in the East Midlands.

I have specifically chosen a platform for our sessions that retains the integrity of table top gaming, whilst integrating digital components to keep it interactive. It's the closest you can get to sitting at my gaming table, regardless of where you are located.
